I thought that the auhtor (Parley P. Pratt) has an excellent knowledge of literary terms and usages. He kept his history true, but at the same time, he used his knowledge of the English language to enhance his story so as not to bore the reader. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading the book. It was one of those books you can't put down, I was constantly wondering what was going to happen next, and found myself reading it every chance I got. It was just another testament to me (since I am a Mormon) of the caliber and character of the men that God chose to spread and defend His religion in the early days of the church. Weaker men would and did crumble under the pressure.
This revised edition of Parley P. Pratt's autobiography is a fantastic true story of an early Apostles life, journeys and trials in the first century of the Restored gospel. His devotion and diligence makes for an interesting read. The pictures add to the interest.

This is an amazing book by an amazing man. Other insights are given following the autobiography to provide more information as to his passing and life. I highly recommend this book to all Latter Day Saints, or anyone that seeks to better understand the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A wonderful book about the conversion and subsequent travels/experiences of an Apostle of Christ. I purchased it because I enjoy reading about the early history of the LDS Church.
