This is old tech, and not meant for w10. However, the updated downloadable driver helps, and the correct programs to find and use it are available. It will not work for me on any port but the pc box itself; it would not run on a usb hub nor an extension cable. It worked with a security cam managing program and MS's Office Image utility. The image is 1080, full screen and has good color and sharpness. The sound is good. Skype sees it. I would suggest a newer camera, the extra cost is worth getting a more recent tech cam.

I've always been a big Microsoft hardware product fan. The quality of materials used, style, and functionality were always great. That being said, this camera is simply awesome. Microsoft has done it again. Not are the looks and quality are excellent, the camera has a superb picture. It fits great on my monitor. I also have an built in monitor (that I don't use any more) The multi-position stand makes it easy to install any where. The ease of USB connection is great. The HD quality video is just outstanding, The style is second to none. I've look at Logitech and I like this one better. To be honest and fare I must admit I'm a Microsoft product fan, however I was sold on a Logitech Camera at first until I researched and found this Microsoft camera. It sold itself.
This camera is an awesome camera and provides some of the best qualities of any camera I have seen in the $30-$100 range. I would suggest good lighting if you want to avoid the delays or jitters you get with poor quality/slow capture cameras. The better the lighting, the better the quality. Very easy, plug and play setup with some fun features. Also like the provided lens cap for privacy.

This is just a quick review (very quick) to tell you that anyone that's looking for a replacement for the very popular Microsoft HD5000 Web Cam (which DOES NOT work as of this writing on Windows 10!) will be happy to learn that this cam not only has a better picture than the HD5000 but it also works perfectly with Windows 10! Just plug the unit it to your USB port and it will automatically download the software from Microsoft, set up the drivers, and integrate itself with your Skype thus having you up and running with little to no effort in as little as 30 seconds! The base that attaches to the monitor could be a little more improved since the HD5000 had a better holding base (and that wasn't that great I assure you) but it does stay on a 28" monitor with not much of a problem. The audio is crystal clear and the picture is extremely good. The blue light could have been placed below the lens but you do see the glow from above letting you know it's on when it is. In all, it has one of the best pictures and audio out of the web cams out there however the price is a little steep running up to $60.00 for a single unit. On Ebay you can get them for as little as 20-25 dollars and that's a steal for a unit with this kind of quality and ease of setup. I highly recommend this as a replacement for ANY web cam running not only on Windows 10 but any operating system. It's just nice to know that there is something that works for Windows 10 since it was a surprise that the HD5000 didn't!Read full review
