Sophie is a young girl who, with her younger brother lives with her family in an apartment building where another relative lives as well- her Auntie Claus. Sophies' family is very big on Christmas and both she and her brother have been spoiled, something Auntie Claus has gently pointed out, but with little results. Auntie Claus is also very big on Christmas, even more so than Sophies' parents. Every year she goes on a business trip at the start of the hoilday season that ends with her return on February 1st. Sophie is extremely curious and decides that she will stow away in the hope of finding out just what these business trips entail. Being mistaken for the new elf gives the child a chance to go undercover in hopes of finding something out. She volunteers to retreive a book that contains the names of the Bad Boys and Cirls. She sees not her name but her brothers name on the list which puts her in a quandry. The ending is a happy one. *****This book was bought as a gift for my partners grand neice, age 9. I recommend that this book be purchased by any and all who have a young girl in their family, those who someday will and everyone else in between. It is a delight from beginning to end with wonderful illustrations throughout- there are little touches of visual humour on every page (especially the Afternoon Tea pages- but I will leave that for you to discover when you buy the book) and bears re-reading for this alone. There is, however a lesson involved. One that is neither heavy-handed or "preachy". It comes from within the characters themselves, which makes this book all the more enjoyable, if a book could possibly be more enjoyable. The author has created a story that should be part of every library and one that I hope becomes a fixture at the holiday season. It is one of the best Childrens' books I have read in a long time and I have seen many.Read full review

Auntie Claus is a hit with my 8 year-old son. It is one of the most requested books to read over and over. The pages have colorful illustrations throughout. You will love Auntie Claus. The author conveys a wonderful message of being less selfish, less greedy, and willing to share with others. *****5 stars
The story is very cute, the artwork delightful. This is a story about a little girl whose aunt lives at the North Pole part of the year, how she finds this out and how she discoveres what her aunt really does and why she is never home for the holidays.
