Nice piece. Accommodates both DVD and Bluray cases including slipcase. There's also a 1" slot at the bottom presumably for thick multidisc collections. Additional thick slots can also be created using metal cutters without compromising mechanical stability. Slot dividers are a little thinner than coat hanger material; vertical supports are about twice as thick. If (when) I buy another, it'll be this one.

I was very surprised when this media tower arrived in a carton about the size of a shoebox. What I found inside explained everything. Completely disassembled, there is no part of this tower larger than about ten inches. And outside of five aluminum dowels, it's made entirely of smoke colored polystyrene plastic. These two properties make for easy and relatively inexpensive shipping but somewhat tedious assembly. There is a total of 29 component parts, plus 20 hex head screws and an included hex key to screw it all together. The almost wordless instructions are difficult to follow as the visual diagrams show inadequate detail. Once assembled, the tower is reasonably sturdy (hint: be sure to tighten all of the screws securely) but not terribly stable when fully loaded. This is why the package includes a pair of drywall anchors to attach the unit to a wall. For maximum stability, load the tower from the bottom upward. BOTTOM LINE: While this unit is attractively priced and offers good capacity, you may be happier with a sturdier unit for a few dollars moreRead full review

Easy to assemble and a good value for the price. Reason for only 3 stars is that it is wobbly, as other reviewers have pointed out. I put only the DVD cases on the tower without any slipcovers on them so the DVDs are very loose in the tower and fall out at the slightest bump. It doesn't seem like slipcovers would completely solve that issue. I've had to place a plastic shim under the two front feet at the bottom to keep it upright. You will definitely want to be sure to put this in a spot away from any high-traffic area. My dogs' tails could topple it without even trying. For the price, I still have to say it's a good value, but with the shim stuck under the front, it's not going to make the cover of a decorating magazine. Maybe a more discreet kind of raiser under the front feet would look better so you might want to look into that possibility at the same time as making this purchase. All in all, I wouldn't recommend against it at the price. Read full review

the why is; because it serves its purpose. The purpose being I have it on my desk, ready filled with the DVD's I want to see for the month. . I do not have to get up, go over to where I have my collection, and search. I will change the lot every month to review. If I happen to not get thru them all. Those not seen stay to be reviewed, and I only add those needed to fill the empty slots. . . Its a great way for me to enjoy my collection. I do this with my CDs only in a smaller amount. I like my music, and enjoy listening to it.

The Blue ray cases do not fit correctly in the sense that they wobble from side to side easily, each case space should be closer to the other one to allow for tightness and to secure the case other wise it just wobbles but the weight helps to keep the structure in place but let’s say you bump into it by accident or your arm or elbow bumps into it, then you are in for a mess because the cases will drop right away, The space that secures the case should be at least 1 inch deeper too so at least if the cases ain’t snuggly or securely tight they can at least have enough room to rest on without having to be careful of not dropping the entire column of dvds or blue rays, whatever you are using this for.
