There are newer small controller keyboards, some with more features and controllers, but the Atruria 32 remains a great deal. For one thing - the reason I bought it - it has 5-pin MIDI connections; you don't need a computer in the loop. That makes it great for connecting directly to stand-alone synth engines like Korg Volcas and similar instruments. The key "feel" is excellent for a small controller, responsive, with velocity and aftertouch. An app on a computer can be used to change things like the velocity curve. I have not used the sequencer - it looks good, but I already have several sequencer options in my workflows and just haven't needed to use another one.

pros: the keys are velocity sensitive, that's allows me to develop a proper finger training when i play. the arp mode creates arpeggios more clearly than any keyboard i've used. cons: the step sequencing is too slow to record and playback in a live scenario, so i use it mainly as a keyboard with its arpeggio, gate and swing to develop a phrase, then record it on a looper. it would be better if this allowed sequence recording using the arp mode or if it had a realtime sequencing mode sometimes, it's difficult to switch to the chord mode. i have to use the shift hold twice to actually engage it.

This is a great controler for controling everything in Music today. Not only your hardware syths but all Digital Audio Workstations. It has one of the most complex yet easy sequensors I have used. In fact this Arturia Keystep is my second. What is better then a Arturia Keystep ? haveing two Arturia Keysteps.

Great little keyboard with a lot of easy-to-use functionality. I love how easy it is to select MIDI channels and the arpeggiator and sequencer are pretty powerful.
