The Mac Mini is the most bang for your buck if you want a Mac and these late 2012 models are the last of the models that are user-upgradable. I bought this to replace an aging 24" 2007 iMac Intel Core Duo that was at max capacity with only 4GB of RAM and still has the original 5400RPM HD. I have a huge iPhoto library with over 15 years of pictures and 65000+ photos and the Intel Core Duo, 4GB of RAM and slower hard drive just couldn't keep up. My configuration is a quad-core i7 2.6 Ghz Mac Mini with 16GB RAM and 1TB Samsung SSD and it's blazing fast and handles my large iPhoto and iTunes libraries like a champ and doesn't hesitate one bit. There is simply no comparison. Plus, I can upgrade the HD in the Mac Mini if I need more space in the future. Highly recommend! You'll save at least $500 or more over buying a high end new one that you can't upgrade. Plus, Apple doesn't make the quad-cores anymore.Read full review
