I had one exactly like this which finally bit the dust. I shouldn't have left the power always on I think. So this one is replacing that one. It is connected to an old 27" console TV which only has the red, white and yellow RCA connectors (no HDMI which all the modern DVD players need) So I'm back in business. Yay!

I am a fan of Apex DVD players. I purchased this model after my former Apex DVD player no longer worked (not due to product malfunction but toddler placing "foreign" items inside). I have had this specific model for approximately three years now and have not experienced the first trouble with it. The Ad-1110W model is easy to set up, easy to use and offers the same quality has high dollar DVD players. Player comes complete with remote that offers a multitude of features. My family uses this DVD on average of at least once per week, so bear in mind I do not know how well it works if you are an avid DVD watcher....or, as I recall, replaying movies numerous times for toddlers!
The Apex Digital AD-1110W DVD Player functions great. It has a lot of features for its price, and it's relatively durable. One "bonus" for this DVD player is that it can play all kinds of DVDs. It has very high tolerance for scratched DVDs, and the "questionable" ones you sometimes get from Ebay. One drawback for this machine is its appearance. It's clumsy looking, and the casing on the unit is made of cheap plastic. I also wish it would have a LED Display, but I might be asking for too much for the price it is being offered. Overall I'm very happy with this machine.
Although I marked no for easy to use, I am 87 and find most electronic products challenging and this one no worse than others. It was an older product, but after I replaced the corroded batteries in the remote it did what I wanted it to do, which was to play DVD's. It showed a closed caption for one DVD that did not show on another player I have. (my wife is quite hard of hearing) Making allowance for the hurricane bearing down on the southern east coast, I received it in a timely manner.

I had an old Apex that I used for many years. It played just about anything that you could load into it, including my computer generated music slide shows and MPEG's. For that reason, I purchased this one. I have never found any other brand that will play my homemade slide shows and "computer made" MPEG's. Unfortunately, this one didn't either. It's a very good piece of equipment otherwise. I use it at my camp in the swamps of Louisiana. Runs on an inverter just as my old one did.
