Apparently this is down to a chemical called Red 27 (keep away from eyes) which reacts to moisture rather than heat, it's cool nontheless! It does indeed last for ages, (although I doubt that it's actually 99% aloe vera based on all other ingredients that would have to be in this - which are NOT listed, I had to research it). Doesn't taste of anything and is a cute hot pink colour. I love it!
