I have been using a Mackie 1640 Onyx mixer with my live Classic Rock band for several years and recently read about the quality of the Allen & Heath mixers, and was wanting a 2nd mixer to use specifically for one of the 2 bands that I play in so that I would not have to make as many adjustments for the different instruments, singers, and drums for each gig. I quickly found that the sound quality of the Allen & Heath WZ4 16:2 Mixer far exceeded that of my Mackie 1640 Onyx mixer, which I had considered to be a top performer. I am now considering getting a 2nd one to replace the Mackie I am so impressed with its clarity and ease of use. Mike Winter, Newton, IL.

First thing I noticed is how much clearer the mix was when I switched to this board. We use it for a 6 pc. rock band 4 vocals, bass, drums, keys, 2 guitars. Very easy to use, effects are better than most other boards I've used. Only minus would be that it is compact, and all the knobs are really close together, so you have to be careful. I have it in a rack case, all wired in with my EQ's, patch bays in the front, so we just plug in our mains, monitors, and Mic's , and we're on!.
