Contrary to a previous review, this cable is NOT a USB cable.. I suppose that it may have been purchased as part of a bundle with a USB to RS-232 adapter, but this specific cable does not connect directly to s USB port. This one works perfectly between my PC (RS-232) and my Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLC. Decent length, good quality connectors and clean plastic molding on each connector. Does the job...Contrary to a previous review, this cable is NOT a USB cable.. Used for traning of for a student...worked excellent.....
After receiving it I plugged in to a USB port on my laptop and Windows found the drivers with no problem. Plugged it in to the test Allen-Bradley 1000 and it communicated.

Works fine.
WORKS in place of Ethernet cable. On my PLC something went wrong with Ethernet port. Could not connect PC with PLC. This USB cable works like charm. In Minutes I was able establish communication between PC and PLC. Very Happy to get back online.
