I do a lot of engine work and dropped my mitotoyo and needed a quick dial so picked this up. It isn't bad but it isn't perfect either. The arm that the dial mounts to has an adjustable spring type adjuster so once you setup and have to move the dial face to zero or wherever, it can and will change the reading if your not super careful while turning it. Outside of that, it's not bad. The mag base and main stansion upright works perfect. If your ok with a possible .001/.002 off and make adjustments to compensate it will get you by. If you need perfect precision then not so much.

So I got the product in today and I was no impressed at all. The dial is very cheaply made. The base and magnet we good but the locking pieces are awkward to use. It's also difficult to get dialed in properly it when you do it seems to work ok. It's good for a quick job but I would not necessarily trust it for stone cold crazy accuracy either. I own a professional automotive shop so this unit would not discourage me from using it but it does encourage me to check it, recheck it, check it a third time and take an average...then check one last time.

OK, I was not expecting very high quality...but I was quite surprised at how good these are. I wanted something that I could use when I put together an engine...something that’ll live life in not the most sanitary environments so to speak. I bought two. These definitely fit the bill. Good repeatability. Not a smooth as Starrett but much less invested.

Product arrived on time, packaged well and appeared to be of decent quality for the price. The indicator operated smoothly and seemed to be just fine. The mag base was adequit, although the magnetic pull could have been better. When I put the indicator on the base, one turn of the tightening knob broke the ferrule holder in the end attachment lug. I requested to simply have the broken piece replaced and the seller was quick to respond. Unfortunately, the broken piece was not offered for replacement and I'm forced to return the entire unit. Unfortunate because otherwise it would have been fine.

Worx relatively smoothly. True, spring pressure is a bit much and the magnet base is not as strong as advertised, but for the price? Can't go wrong. I checked accuracy using feeler gauges and it's accurate to better than a .001 over a .005 gap, which is all I need. Contrary to some reviewers, I find the clamps are ok and should be fine if not over tightened. If they slip I'll roll up a piece of emory and slide it on the shaft rather than crank them down. No, it ain't no Sterrate but it's good enough for my intermediate use and should work well to set up my 1920's era south bend.
