My personal favorite installment of the entire franchise is Aliens versus Predator 2 (2001) here's why... The story is incredibly grand and epic in a glorious scale, it almost combines Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Predator and Predator 2 in such a phenomenal way respecting them all yet being extremely original and 'bigger' than all of them combined. It feels like three movies simultaneously occurring. The human characters are particularly well written and interesting, personally I feel they are on par with the characters from Alien and Aliens. -For the Alien it is a twist of a classic tale of a Knight protecting his Queen, the Xenomorph is handled with great respect and remains lethal throughout the entire adventure. The rivalry between the lead LV-1201 Warrior and Dr. Arnaud Eisenberg is incredibly interesting, and would love to see something similar in an Alien film someday. -The Prince Predator's story is a tale of redemption and revenge against a man called General Vassili Rykov which he met in 2211 (approximately 19 years before the main adventure). Once the Predator arrives on LV-1201 and Rykov becomes aware of his presence it becomes an epic saga of two warriors getting ready to settle their score. -The Marine Corporal Harrison's tale is one of pure survival, overcoming daunting odds and the characters sense of loss yet determination of steel throughout the events is amazingly well done. The story is so incredibly large and there is a ridiculously large attention to detail that I cannot fathom of telling you a quarter of it, it is truly something you must experience for yourself. Here's a quick synopsis: The story takes place in roughly 2231, when the Weyland-Yutani Corporation follows the Derelict from LV-426's flight telemetry to a planet, LV-1201. A world covered in jungles and barren landscapes similar to LV-426, full of wildlife and upon further investigation they discover a massive network of ancient Engineer ruins and connecting caverns with a healthy and powerful Xenomorph ecosystem. In the 1700's the Yautjas discovered this world as well but had long abandoned it, once a Yautja that had been trapped in stasis for hundreds of years awakens from the humans tampering with the Engineer tech, he alerts others of his race that soon arrive to 'cleanse' their territory. In the evening, play in the dark, and no game has ever raised the fear and intensity of Alien vs Predator 2 on my PC. You feel as if you are the Marine, with the tingling fear going up your spine for what might be around the next corner. The intensity and speed of the Alien's once you come across them will at times make you have to pause the game and check your underwear. Even still being as the game was released in 2001, the graphics are excellent, maybe not as detailed as games like Halo today, but really not far off, and those first person action shooters aren't near as impactive as AVP2. Accomplishing the marine level is a heck of a first rate challenge even on normal difficulty. Then, learn the Alien, now that's a wicked kick in the pants, climb walls, surprise the marines and leap from a football field away to strike the fear you realized when you were a marine. Then the Predator, the ultimate solder, with tactics, weapons and stealthy powerful ability. As far as online gaming, the fastest paced action you'll ever see as all 3 battle it out in many different world arena's. Shooters can take advantage in hallways from spotting an Alien if they are fast, but out in the open area's, the Aliens can come from anywhere un-spotted, and you can be shooting for your life in an instant. This game simply Rocks, nothing in my eye's has ever come close, Halo and others are nice, but AVP2 rules the fast/fearful action of all games I think. I just can't believe in 7 years they haven't given us an updated AVP game.Read full review
Given the fact this game is several years old, it still maintains what I like about gaming. This game gives you the thrill of a hunt. Stalking your game, albeit the alien, the predator or being the marine fighting and fending off these creatures. It's challenging making it from level to level. What I like most is being the predator and knowing theres an alien around a corner. Your heart starts to beat rapidly, your mind races to make a decision on how to go about stalking and finally, making the alien fall. The ability to go into stealth mode is cool. For an older game, it still holds me captive. Works great on windows XP where the original does not work well or not at all on XP. A great classic.
I had originally bought this game when it came out the first time in the big box and I can't seem to find it now and I'm glad it was available at such a great price It's fun to play it again.

First off, I btought the game because I am an big fan of AVP, and I always wanted one. Thank God I found it on time for cheaper price. Second of all, I LOVE the game, it is scary as it can be, it really depent on which one you are playing as. When you are playing as Marie, you will hear scary moive, predator running around still yet has not shown his face to me, and the aliens are crazy, quick, hungery wild animals, you gotta be quick on these guys. I am best as the Predator, it is really cool to play as him. As for Alien, I have not gotta far still struggling on it, even after I gave birthon the game. Finally, The game is overall A plus, everywhere it says it has are in the game. I would recommand this game for any AVP Fans outthere. I know you will enjoy this game Trust Me
