    nice battery powered phantom box but ...

    the ART Phantom II Pro is a nice (and one of only two non-expensive) battery powered phantom box units but check out the Nady DMP-2. It's a bit lower priced, has dual channel XLR In/Out, has a switch for Off / On / +48V and contrary to some reviews I've read, the preamps are very quiet (IMO folks need to do a bit of learning regarding impedance matching). If you want a battery powered +48V phantom with XLR jacks and a black anodized case the ART is best otherwise check out the Nady DMP-2 (which is what I wound up eventually going with)
