Bought to replace the rental Optimum Arris modem TM822, which Optimum is charging $10/month to rent. Dead simple to hookup and drop into the system. After hooking it up, a brief call to Optimum to give them the MAC address and it is up and running. Although refurbished, this looks brand new and is working perfectly. Added bonus is the that this TM1602A is significantly narrower and shorter than the TM 822. Highly recommend you pick this up and stop getting charged to rent the Optimum modem.

This is what I was expecting, no more no less. I was a bit afraid of getting this cable modem since I know that if the modem were registered before with Optimum (Cablevision), I would be having problems changing the MAC address to my Optimum account. I am not sure if it was luck, but when I called the Optimum tech help desk to provision my new modem, they did it without any problems.

So far modem is performing well. This was purchased to use with Optimum business account that has the phone, tv & internet package. Replaces an older Arris model that was near its end of life. Easy to set up and a quick phone call to Optimum to register new modem was quick and easy. Happy to be saving the monthly rental fee and this will pay for itself in just a few months.

I bought this Arris TM1602A to get rid of the one that I had and at the same time cut off the rental fee of $10 and $1.12 modem tax fee that Optimum used to charge me every month. Since it came, almost 3 weeks ago; I never had any problem with it and it works like the new one that I had from Optimum. I highly recommend it to anyone especially for those who want to stop paying the modem rental fee from cable and internet services.

This is the standard high speed modem that my cable carrier uses. Instead of having to pay each month to rent it, buying the same exact modem saves me money. It's great to know that they are available online. This modem is in perfect shape, all the cables were included and literally plug and play. The only thing I had to do was contact my cable carrier to let them know what I was doing and also so they could register the MAC number in order to finalize the process. I really like my new modem now and not theirs!
