I recently took a Microbiology Class and our Lab was stocked with a few of these books - but there was not enough for everyone, and I was very glad to have my own. Mine was used and already three hole punched which made it all the more handy to put in my lab notebook. All the pictures of the organisms, both microscopic and appearance of growth on agar plates made this a great resource for class. We had labs about differential and special growth media in class as well, and these were all covered well in the Atlas. There was a lot of information about antibiotic susceptibility testing as well. Great resource for a medically oriented Microbiology class.
This book was very helpful in identifying my organisms for class, it shows detail and description very well. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it is a loose leaf book. You have to put it in a binder, that takes up more room than just a book but all in all it was a good purchase and good book.
This photographic atlas is very descriptive, the pictures in the text are quite helpful. I recieved this product as looseleaf sheets. I love this. Instead of getting frustrated at the binding of a book and then sheets tearing off at the corner, slip this into binder and you're good to go!
Exactly what I needed!!
