it's actually kinda pretty too. it looks like glitter in a tube. It's pre-program so you don't have to worry about temperature changing on you and it's barely noticeable in your tank if you put some plants in front of it

This heater is responsible for the expiration of my two Bettas and a Molly. Do not use unless you have at least 4-5 gallon aquarium. This item heats very inconsistently and even though I monitored the temperature, the fish apparently could not take the fluctuations as the water was heated quickly one time and then slowly. Not good! Beware!

I bought this for my 6.5 gallon aquarium. The water seems awfully hot to me sometimes but stays at 80* which is within range for my betta fish and 4 other fresh water fish. I would not purchase this heater for any tank smaller than a 6.5 gallon though for that reason. Always keep it completely submerged and unplug 15 mins prior to removing it as directed and I think it will last.

Can't recommend the Bettastik. We have a 2.5 gallon betta aquarium in a room where the air temperature thermostat is kept at 74 degrees. The Bettastik kept heating the aquarium water to 81.7 to 81.9 degrees which is too warm for the fish and obviously warm to the touch (lukewarm feel). With no way to adjust it, I can't use it any more.

I bet its good for a 2.5 tank. Sadly I bought this thinking it was for a 5Gal tank. So I cant give it a full and honest review because I don't have the right equipment to test it.
