SolarEpic 600W Grid Tie Inverter DC22V - 60V to AC110V
What I like: The inverter will automatically adjust to low voltage (22v) solar panels or high voltage (60v). The inverter will also adjust to either 120VAC or 240VAC. I have only used these on 120VAC. I use 2 - 285 watt solar panels in parallel per inverter. I have ran two inverters about a year on the back side of the solar panels (sheltered from rain/snow) and have found the circuit board seems to hold up and the fans so far. As long as the price stays about $85, it is a good value with a year warranty. (I have not tested out this warranty). Issues encountered: I have found that the DC power terminals may run hot during summer and tend to heat up over time and may melt after a while, resulting in eventual failure of the inverter. I used the power terminals off of the previous inverter (different brand) and soldered them to the internal fuses with stranded #10 wire to replace the original melted power terminals. Works great now with no heat issues on the power terminals. I would give this inverter 5 stars except for the power terminal issue. It is more important that the circuit board holds up, since the power input terminals can be replaced and then the inverter put back in service. The newer inverters come with banana plugs that plug into the power terminals. Perhaps this will prevent the terminals from heating up? Overall I am pleased with this inverter since the circuit board does not seem to burn up (not repairable) as I have seen a different brand do.

Not very efficient
This inverter has been working for me for around a month now with out any trouble. I have had 2 300 watt panels hooked up to it and the best output I have seen is around 425 watts output on a very good day.

Easy to hook-up and works for two 72cell solar panels. I plan on purchasing about 6 more of the same (stacked) for my other 12 panels because of their size, operating temperature, and display function.

Great first grid-tie inverter for people experimenting with small scale PV
For someone experimenting with a small grid-tie solar array, this is an inexpensive way to get started. It really is as simple as it can get. Plug into a wall outlet using the provided cord. Connect up to 600 watts of PV, not to exceed 60 volts open circuit, and turn on the power switch. The inverter automatically restarts each morning. It will shut down upon loss of utility (although it is not UL Listed yet). The MPPT tracking seems to work well. The on-board bar-graph LED power output indicator will give a basic indication of output power. You may want to add external metering on the DC or AC side to keep more detailed historic data. It will auto-configure to 120/240 volts, 50/60 Hz. There are no switches to set. Simple and easy to connect. Seems well constructed and the cooling fan ...
