Great for UV-5R programming cable.
I bought these because I had purchased a Baofeng UV-5R programming cable from another source, and even with the correct drivers installed on my computer, I was never able to get it to work. A search of the internet revealed other people had the same problem. One of the other people recommended buying these modules and substituting them for the faulty ones. It worked great. Does exactly what I need
I use these to replace the USB- RS232 converters in radio programming cables which were manufactured using counterfeit Prolific chips as well as cables which have failed for any reason. I have repaired several cables without a single problem. My friends are happy because it's saving them $10 to $20 from buying a completely new cable. Terrific little device
I highly recommend this device for programming nearly any amateur radio. I have used it to program multiple brands including Yaesu, TYT, Baofeng, and Retevis. You need to know the pin-out of the radio. Some radios require a diode installed in line.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
