After I put a good edge on the blade and sanded off the heavy paint on the face part around the blade which rides against the wood. Once dialed in it works better than I expected for the price. It dramatically reduced my handle making time.

Cheap tool ,not as nice as veritas but what do you expect for 5$? Finish is over all decent, blade is sharp out of box but needs a little touch.Adjustment screws are flimsy one is threaded crooked(chinese people cant make a thread if you point a gun to their heads,it would still be bad),but i dont use them anyway so its not a big deal I use it for tool handle making and i am happy with this tool.

Can't beat the price for an occasionally used tool. If you make your living with a spoke shave you might want to upgrade. But for the tinkerer this is a great value.

My first Spoke Shave. I made a pair of oars up like nothin!!!!!! So, I bought 2 more spoke shaves, just to have them. They are so cheap and include free shipping They are the same ones selling for 2 or 3 times the money when shipped from USA. Instead of one week, I had to wait about 2 weeks. Fine by me. Love tapping into these vintage styled woodworking tools! I just received 2 more in the mail. Took less than 10 days both orders! Highly recommend these folks! 2 years later... I've used this countless times. Make oars and tent poles and the like. Holds up fine!

Its a good tool and works well. The blade could be a tad bit sharper but mostly good. I will say that the color of the handle was green instead of black.
