Simple, easy fun.....like "excite bike" of days long past.
Okay, so my title gives my age away. I'm a simple man who likes simple things. While my gaming days are past my teenage daughter loves Mario Kart and games like that.....of which there are surprisingly few offerings. So I heard about this one and thought I'd order it for her for her birthday. So glad I did!!!! This is similar to Mario Kart but feels more......aggressive? The handling is great!!! Haven't played it for more than 1 hour but so far no tracks where you just fall off into space......I hate those on Mario Kart that do that as I can't stay on the track and my entire gaming experience on those is one of "re-starting"! ha! Graphics are good, sound is good. Not sure why Jimmy Johnson put his name on it.....besides pit stops this is nothing like NASCAR. The pit stops ARE a cool addition...you can stop in and repair echarge your car. The only draw back...and for me it was kind of a big one...is you have to pump the throttle TWICE to hit nitros. Why?????? So many buttons on the Xbox controller that go unused in this game....and yet we have to double pump the throttle? That happens to me quite unexpectedly....usually in a corner! My daughter finds it HILARIOUS....me? not so much! ha! Seriously....they put nitros to a button and this game would have no other rival. Even with this I think I am learning how to control my throttle finger and is super fun to play. I paid less than $15 for this game....a bargain in todays game world. If you like Mario Kart....you're gonna like this game. If you liked Excite bike......ROCK ON!!!!
