Almost great
It does everything well and has lots of features. However, there is no digital display on the recorder; all functions are displayed on the TV. If you can't get the TV hooked up to it, there is no way to tell why the connection isn't working or if the recorder is working at all. Once the TV connection is made, everything else is good.
