A classic from the Age of Sail
This miniature ship model is intended as a "Special Ship Pack" for the game "Sails of Glory," a very entertaining game of naval battles during the Napoleonic, American Revolutionary and War of 1812 Eras and fulfills that role perfectly with cards, game pieces and technical information necessary for the "Sails of Glory" game system. Like all of the models from that game, it is extremely detailed and beautiful to the point of being a piece of art in and of itself. That makes this particular "game piece" also a collector's item for anyone with an interest in American Revolutionary War history or American Naval history, particularly those of us that do not have large mansions in which to display majestic 12- 24 inch long scale models of sailing ships in custom built display cases. The beautifully illustrated boxed model is only 8" wide and 5" high, fitting neatly on almost any bookshelf and the incredibly detailed ship model itself is only 4" wide and less than 3" high. It can balance on top of a computer or the smallest niche as a piece of historical/patriotic art! It is a finely detailed and delicate model and I would not call it "durable."
