The foam is soft and responsive but not at the level of a super foam, but, about as good as it gets for a standard EVA. I have 2 different colors and they fit differently despite being the same size. That's the only real gripe I have with Diadora, the consistency of fit isn't there. 1 pair fits perfectly, 1 fits narrow and rubbed badly until I got 100 miles in them and they "broke" in. I have a hard time recommending Diadoras because of the inconsistent fit.
