    TV Guru

    This converter works good. Probably the best converter box on the market. The only trouble is it needs to be sold with it`s original remote control unit. Without the original remote control, you cannot program the channels in the converter box or use the TV guide. Replacement remote control units like GE, Sony, Magnavox, and others will not work. I had to buy the original remote for this box.

    This particular model of the digital tuner converter is hearty and excellent. Note that to access all of the features to actually use it, the remote control is necessary; without the remote, only power-on and channel-up and channel-down are available. The only reason that this model is not absolutely perfect is that it will occasionally turn itself off (to go into power-saving mode) even when it was set to stay on at all times. This occasional idiosyncrasy is problematic when setting a recorder to time-shift a television program that is receiving no signal :-( Otherwise, the tuner portion is heartier than other brands that have literally lost their ability to tune in stations over the years. I already had an identical model with remote and could simply use its remote to access all its ...
