    Great book for study and learning about positive impacts of the Catholic Church throughout history

    This is a more advanced book. To fully understand it, I found myself doing lots of research on the references made. This is not the author's fault as there is just too much info to put into one book. If you want to learn about the history of the Church and the amazing impact it has had on society, this is a good book. Just be prepared to do dig deeper when you may not know a reference. It also inspired me to think that that the Church is meant to evolve and adapt as organism. That does not mean their teachings should change, but that the strategy of spreading the truth can change. I look at this as an intro to learning about the history of Church that focuses on the positive impacts to society. It is only an intro as there is so much more that written in the book.     Academic grade history research in a very engaging package

    This is a must have. The mainstream history paints the middle ages as the "dark ages". Yet is hard to reconcile the "dark" when you consider figures of the stature of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the technological advances and hospitals and university systems that originated in these "dark times" Thomas Woods, renown historian, goes over the history of Europe and the western civilization in a easy to read, yet deep and well sourced book.
