Good for the money
Nice phone for the price. The Moto features don't work as well as they should. The battery life isn't great. It's about average. I could barely get a full day with light use. This phone is big. It's tall and narrow, but feels well built. I prefer the feel of the droid turbo 2 which has a similar screen size but is shorter and wider. It fits better in my hand. The screen is bright and the speakers are great. coming from a galaxy phone I do miss some of Samsung's software perks. Example, after you receive a text the phone doesn't continue to alert you if you haven't seen it yet. Not a huge deal though. You can find apps to do that. Also the always on screen display is cool which allows you to view your notification without unlocking the phone. The twist for camera and shake for flashlight.. genius. The ultimate phone
When I met this phone last year, I saw a phone that might as well be owned by Zeus himself.. excellent camera, excellent display, excellent performance, excellent looks, super excellent price.. excellent everything. It was unreachable to me at that point because where Im from, customs sucks.. But a year after its release, it is still an excellent phone, and the price is even excellenter than last year, so I didn't think it twice and I bought it right away. My initial impression of the phone was not very good, but that was primarily due to a lousy carrier. It also was different from the phone that I retired. After a change of carriers and getting used to the phone, I am very pleased with it. The size may be an issue with some, but if you have large hands it will fit quite well. Switched from iOS - very happy
Does everything my iPhone did except those little numbers on the app icons to tell you that you have so many messages unread etc... that's a downer - although it does seem fixable. Other than that it's been great to use, and at just over $200 much cheaper than a new iPhone... Battery life is better than my iPhone but still not nearly getting through a heavy day of use. A flagship phone on the cheap.
I gave it 5 stars because of the great features for the price.. It's going for somewhere around $300.00 or less. One big thing it has going is it's unlocked for all carrier's. Nice processor, 3 gigs of RAM, nice audio and a good camera. The size and weight will turn some away but I had the Honor 5x and it was blown away by the Motorola X. Check the online reviews. I upgraded to the Galaxy S7 Edge because smaller former factor better camera, display but I miss the audio from the Moto X, better music and phoning. Worth waiting for!
I was a bit apprehended when ordering this, as most of the other review were so good. But after spending close to a month with it, I can tell you it was worth the wait. I order this because I want to simple phone without "bloatware" from the manufacturer, also a phone that is well supported with upgrade and possible third party ROM. This is such phone. I am still running Marshmallow that comes with the phone. This works well enough, although limited in features. But it is stable and fast. I might install other ROM to it, if I even get bored with the standard OS, but that is way down the road. So all in all, a good performer with good clean implementation of standard Android.
