Great Product, Ideal for residential A/C work
I'm just starting out working on A/C Equipment and already had a set of mechanical gauges, but wanted electronic ones primarily due to their small size and the ability to check systems without losing hardly any refrigerant that would normally happen with long hoses connected to traditional gauges. Upon arrival, I turned on each probe and then loaded the application on my Motorola cell phone and locked onto each probe. I was able to place them all on the floor and walk through my home and kept signal for a distance of about 50 feet through a couple of walls and lots of furniture. Outside line of sight connections would be of greater distance I'm sure, but typical bluetooth technology is really only designed for about 30 feet, so these probes appeared to continue transmitting to my phone for more than that distance. Newer probes from another major company use 2.4Ghz WiFi to transmit, so of course that frequency and transmit power will extend for a much longer range. In my area, most all residential A/C units are on a single floor, and typically very close distance between internal and external system components, so these should work just fine for my needs today.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
