I bought this pot because it has no plastic parts or glues on the inside to contaminate the water as it heats. While it was pricey compared to other electric pots, it's very hard to find hot pots with no plastic or glues on the inside so I splurged. Heats much faster than my old pot.

It was functional and easy to use. Then, we noticed that the handle had melted. It's not like we intentionally misused it or held it over an open flame. Sadly, we could find nothing marked S/N or Serial Number so our Squaretrade Warranty was worthless and the seller won't take it back being over a month old. We are quite upset because we so wanted a functional electric kettle. Be warned and use carefully.

Bought as it was reviewed as a quiet kettle ... it is and it isn't. Unlike most kettles this kettle is nearly silent as it approaches the boil but it produces loud low rumble in the early part of the boil cycle... it is however significantly better than most kettles I've tried It manages to get a 5 star rating from me as there is absolutely no plastic in contact with water before, during or after ..... wish more kettles were like this!!!

This water kettle was rated very highly by Consumer Reports. It deserves its rating. It is very fast, boiling a full pot of water in 3-4 minutes. It is easy to handle. It cleans easily and the stainless steel inside liner looks like it will last a long time. The plastic outside stays cool. It is much faster and energy efficient than boiling water in a kettle on the stove. Only drawback is one common to almost all small appliances-a very short power cord which limits where you can put it without using an extension cord.
