Product Information

1080p up-conversion by interpolating video data using proprietary algorithms, SD format data is up-converted to 1080 x 1920p HD format video data. This conversion to HD format increases the richness of the original data by approximately six fold, and produces the highest possible image quality when viewing content on a large-screen HDTV. Enjoy watching crisper and sharper video enabled by detailed reproduction of contents on DVD and HDD. Connect a DIGA DVD recorder to your VIERA TV via an HDMI cable, and the TV channel setting information is automatically downloaded to the DIGA recorder. To record the program you're watching, you can start immediately, by pressing the VIERA link button on the VIERA remote control and selecting "Direct TV Rec" on the VIERA link menu screen. DMR-EX769 feature an advanced control system that automatically adjusts fan speed based on information received from an internal heat sensor. When the internal temperature rises, the fan turns on to prevent overheating. When the temperature is low, the fans shut off entirely, providing whisper-quiet operation. The DVD drive operates only when a disc is inserted, eliminating unnecessary noise.

    A great product

    Quality is very high and very well priced. Excellent connectivity and functionality make this a very useful unit which will see much use. The 160GB HDD with plenty of room for storage and the Rip/Burn facility it enables is ideal for personal conversion from other Media and Players for one's personal Film, TV and Documentary and Childrens Videos. I like to have hard copies of everything I wish to keep so this Panasonic Unit is ideal.

    A top machine if in full working order,but the remote control didn't work.I had an original Panasonic remote control that worked with the unit,but then found,one of the input, output's (AV2) socket didn't work.Returned.

    Who needs sky plus, I've got this !!

    Bought this hard disk/dvd recorder to record from my sky box (panasonic use a system called external link)it also has freeview +. Analogue recordings can be dubbed to dvd, which is handy. I haven't tested if freeview can be dubbed. I must admit to having a panasonic dvd only recorder previously, so was used to the menu system. The editing capabilities are very good and are handy for cutting ads out etc before dubbing to dvd. The freeview + can be recorded whilst the unit is in external link mode (handy because certain channels aren't on skyfree) And lastly, in it's highest recording mode you can get 67 hours recording.(lesser quality is very acceptable and increases recording time)
