Where do I begin? Over 35 years ago, I was 19, living on my own, and Cheri and her daughter, moved in with me, she brought this 8 track with her and I just fell in love with it, we listened to it everywhere, and would sing along with it, until we had every word memorized. Cheri, lent the 8 track to her husband, Billy Ray, who she was seperated from, after time she asked for it back. He told her he had "lost it". Cheri told me she bet it was in his pick up, and asked me if I would help her get it back, I said sure, and we went to where he lived. While Cheri kept him busy, I got in the truck and sure enough, there it was, I grabbed it, got back in my car, waited for Cheri. She came back out, and so did "Billy Ray" threatening to beat her up, he threw her against the car, and demanded the tape back, Cheri told me to give it back to him, I did. We admitted defeat. Time passed and Cheri ended up going out with another man who lived about 400 miles away, she was staying with him, and her little girl too, and she told me she was going to move back East with him, because she was pregnant, and felt she should. She did and she kept in touch with me through letters, and informed me that her situation was very bad where she was living and could she come back out and live with me, and of course I told her yes. She moved out, 9 months pregnant, her daughter in tow and I don't think more than two weeks passed and she went into labor, and almost had the baby boy in my car. She was informed two weeks later that the baby's daddy had sat on the front porch of his parents home and told his mother he was going to shoot the first cop car he seen drive by. His mother of course called the cops, and sure enough 50 or more cop cars came by, and they filled this poor soul full of holes, his mother called Sherry to let her know he was dead. There was a friend of ours, Mimi, that came by to ask us to go out to the country with her to go to a dance, none of us wanted to go, besides, Mimi was dating Cheri's husband, wierd, she wanted to tell "Billy Ray", Cheri's husband, that she was pregnant. She told him and he basically told her to get lost, upset, she drove home speeding, and rolled her car right at the sharp curve and dip of where one of her brothers lived, and she and her unborn died. Cheri met another man and moved out of state with him and her two kids, the boy later fell off a ladder while following his "Dad" and died. I started dating Mimi's brother, Phil, and we were in his truck heading for a rodeo, and I opened the glove compartment to get something out, and there was this 8 track, all the tape out and wrapped around it, stuffed into the glove box, and I just looked at "Phil", and asked "where did you get this?", and he told me he went out to his sisters accident site and picked up Mimi's things that were strewn about the highway and the side of the road. He said he and picked up that tape and put it in his glove box. I begged him to let me try and fix it, and he agreed. Come to find out, "Billy Ray", Cheri's Ex, had lent it to Mimi. I had tape all over the furniture and every room in my house, gently putting this 8 track back together with scotch tape, and wound it by hand. I played it, it worked!!! I recorded it, to preserve it forever, I've since tried to find any CD's of Sandy Posey, but was always unable to, until now, on EBAY, the name of the 8 track, thats now on CD is "The Best of Sandy Posey", you should get it, you'll love it, I do!!Read full review
Sandy Posey is a superb artist and also songwriter. She is unique. Her songs are a wonderful showcase for her talent. "Blue is My Best Color" she wrote. It is short but it is exquisite. "I Take it Back" was her last chart topping hit, and it has stood the test of time.

I'd nearly forgotten Sandy Posey though she hit the pop charts six times with Born a Woman (#12), Single Girl (#12), I Take It Back (#12), What a Woman in Love Won't Do (#31), Are You Never Coming Home (#59), and Something I'll Remember (#102). She hit the country charts 11 times. So a little pop, a little country-tinged pop, a little country. All in all, the music is agreeable enough though somewhat lightweight (to include the covers I'm Your Puppet, Come Softly to Me, and Will You Love Me Tomorrow). My fav non-hits are the gorgeously orchestrated Arms Full of Sin, the heart-felt Shattered, the desperate Mister, and the sorrowful Sunglasses (don't let the bouncy melody fool you). Though the lyrics are generally countryish and though loneliness and heartbreak dominate, nothing here will disappoint. No text. The liner note is a single-page quartered into a foldout.Read full review
