I watched this movie for the first time when I was in high school. Before then, I hated the idea of going off to camp. After the viewing, I really hated the idea! Seriously, this film is a cult classic and probably always will be. Is the premise likely to happen in real life, unlike Freddy and Jason? Well, that's what makes it a little frightening. In all honesty, it could happen. I won't tell any spoilers, but the killer in this film isn't some back-from-the-dead idiot who won't ever die. Would it ever happen? In today's screwed up world, who knows? Probably not. The acting in the film isn't the greatest, but a large portion of the cast is pre-teens and teenagers. Could the acting be worse? Definitely! Watch a film by H.G. Lewis (whose films I have watched didn't mind) and you will view the performances in this film as Oscar-worthy! I really enjoyed the commentary by Director Robert Hiltzik and Felissa Rose (the original Angela), but could have done without the babbling of Moderator Jeff Hayes who is webmaster of the Sleepaway Camp Website. I would have much rather heard commentary by Robert, Felissa with Jonathan Tierston (the cute, but clueless, Ricky), Christopher Collet (the unlucky Paul), or Karen Fields (the much-hated Judy). If you love horror movies, give this one a look. If you hate horror movies, leave this one alone. The ending is shocking (maybe even compared to today's standards), so be ready. I believe my mouth hung open during the closing credits. Definitely not one to watch in the dark!Read full review
A new camp is started near the site of an old one where a boy possesing as a girl slaughtered all the campers.one of the consuelors is the bubbly Angela who follows the camp rules to the tee and when people or fellow consuelors don't they leave the camp unexpectly.Whats not to love in this horror movie, nudity unlike the first one, creative deaths and a mad as a hatter Angela.recommended for horror fans

This movie is just like Firday the 13th, except it about kids staying at a camp. The killer isn't no freakishly hug monster man though. To tell you the truth the movie isn't even that scary. The only thing that is scary is the mute main character "which is a girl". She just stares and looks awkward through the whole movie. Well there are parts were she does speak and show emotion. It's a pretty old old movie but the picture is crisp as possible. I recommended it to people who love 80's movies in general.
The dvd worked well with no issues. It arrived within a few days after buying. Love the movie, that’s why I bought it. 1980’s horror is great!
