NW-700 Condenser Microphone.
This microphone amazed me and for this price! You would be crazy not to at least give it a shot and I took the chance. The mic sounds very good and if you are thinking of buying this make sure to also get a USB sound card as any laptop or desktop microphone jack will not provide enough volts to give it that smooth sound. Instead it will either sound like it's muffled or just not work at all. Don't forget to get a boom arm for it as well as your not supposed to hold onto condenser microphones becuase of their sensitivity. I agree 100% with the other reviewer(s) about the wind foam cap, it does the job well but if you don't like the way it looks just get a windscreen for the mic as it makes it and you look more professional. Can't beat this mike for the price
The mike is a small capsule (~0.8mm) electret condenser type with XLR connection. It has good directivity (cardioid pattern, according to the accompanying literature), and good frequency response. It has a very nice matte black metal body and chrome screen, giving it a sturdy feel. With its shock mount, the mike system looks professional, even at close range. This mike can be used for both vocal and instrument recording with nice results. It has a moderate internal noise level (the result of a small electret capsule - it's weakest area of performance, and actually quite acceptable), which would suggest use with sources that have adequate SPL to ensure a good signal-to-noise ratio. (Miking speech at a foot would yield acceptably quiet recordings.) The mike begins a gradual rolloff ... The mike is a small capsule (~0.8mm) electret condenser type with XLR connection. However, the mike's circuity is really designed for professional phantom power (up to 48 VDC), so 5 volt mike jacks will lower the mike's sensitivity, increase the apparent noise level and increase the chance of overload on strong SPLs. This is not optimal performance, and some computers produce 3 volts, which is not acceptable - to get the best from this mike, better to get an XLR-input mixer with phantom power, or get a mike designed for low-voltage systems. All around, an attractive general-purpose mike with remarkably good audio performance and a very modest price.

The is an excellent mic. I could not believe how great the quality was for the price it was listed. It's not heavy. It is medium weight. I know some individuals elsewhere have reported that this mic possesses a bright sound quality. I've experienced a little different. The cord is of great quality. It feels like it will last for quite some time. The shock mount is nice. If you want to get the full sound/quality of sound from the mic, it is advisable that you purchase a phantom power supply that will provide you with 48 volts of power as this is a condenser mic. You will also need a XLR male to female cable to go along with the power supply or mixer. With that said, you can, however, plug the cable that comes with the mic into an external USB sound card and that will supply ... The is an excellent mic. Of course, that depends on the external sound card used. Sabrent USB sound cards have gotten rave reviews. Make sure to purchase a mic stand. Condenser mics are not supposed to be handheld as they are ultra sensitive to frequencies. A suspension boom scissor arm stand or a floor stand with a telescope arm/pole or boom arm would be great. They allow reach. I have the latter. Oh, by the way, the wind foam filter does a good job, and it actually doesn't look too bad on the mic. But if you don't want it on during recording, 'cause you don't want to cover that shiny grill, then please keep it for when you are not using the mic. It can act as a dust stopper and protect your mic. This mic would look great in silver too. Thanks for a great product. I may be back for more.

There are quite a few reviews are written about it and posted on line. When it comes down to the actual specifics and hard core testing... of course it may not be nor can it be compared to a microphone that cost 10 times more or even in some cases 100 times more. But ! It also does not fit in the category of "you get what you pay for cliché :-)" You get Way MORE than what you pay for. In our studio it performed exceptionally well just by plugging it into a laptop(Sony Vaio). It does NOT need a phantom box to power it as long as you get about 5volts on your sound card. Even at 3volts it was working pretty well although the volume had to be turned up to about ... This microphone was purchased for a startup Internet Radio Station. They are German Design(made in China) but they are a perfect match for the microphone. The PS400 or the MA400 is highly recommended and should be an adequate choice for this mic. It will produce a truly crispy studio sound and give value for the money to anyone looking for a value driven purchase.

a very good mic for the money i paid for it. no need to use bottom end mics with this one one the market. this mic compares to other costing over $250. the BM 800 is a little better than the neewer-700 but not too dramatic and ya save a few dollars with the neewer-700 Neewer and BM are about identical and use the same model numbers, i have both. you will be happy i assure you
