A little tricky to get settings right on this scanner. Once you get that figured out-simply scan to your hearts content. Digitized roughly 2500 of my dad's slides and they turned out beautiful. Next project is 5000+ glass plates that belonged to great grandpa, tried one with mixed results using a homemade template-like I said you have to play with the settings a bit. Overall, a good scanner at a decent price.

Good printer for scanning negatives which is what I bought it for. Slightly smaller than then v800 series so I can only scan one strip at a time but quality wise it is sounds. Sometimes the free software freezes and fails to connect to scanner but rebooting a few times does the trick, also make sure you got the latest version available. Easy to use, does what it says and generally comes with a solid enough free software to get things done.

Used exclusively to scan old photo negatives which were primarily B&W, I found the setup relatively easy. However it didn't take long to realize the Epson Scan software has some issues and requires a fair amount of CPU resources in order to get decent images. I found the film holders to be a bit flimsy and was surprised with how the medium format holder was engineered. All the 120 format film strips I had were 4 frames and the holder was designed for 3 1/2 which is odd. Overall it's a good product that I recommend for anyone that doesn't want to invest in a drum scanner nor need super high resolution images. I sold mine easily and just purchased the V700 since I have some very valuable large format negatives that the V600 isn't capable of scanning.

For ten years I have used Epson printer and scanners and the V600 is the first moderately priced scanner which does an excellent job scanning medium format negatives 120mm including 6x6. The Epson scan software allows for most normal correction and the 600 allow for color, contrast by histogram and curves. Previously the scanner took what seemed like hours but the 600 is unbelievably fast. The entire package from box to scanning took no more than twenty minutes. The finished product At 3200 dpi enlarges easily to 11x19 without loss of detail when printed in the XP960. Actually, the prints are stunning and when displayed bring comments and sell. I would recommend this combination to anyone.

Excellent machine, great color reproduction with prints or slides. Needed alternate software as the included software tended to cut off some slide sections, almost arbitrarily. Otherwise, unit in perfect condition. Fast scanner, great color, mint condition and THANK YOU for NOT using ammonia on the glass!

Great scanner, extremely accurate, very good software platform, super hi-res scans. Only downside is can not accommodate oversized negatives; i.e. large glass plates or film. Have to use the 850 for those.

Excellent resolution on older medium format negatives. You can rig your own negative holder for large format negs. Software fairly straightforward, had to spend about an hour setting up and becoming familiar. My only criticism is that it's slow, or rather not fast. 😎 You need to "preview" first, then scan. There's no eliminating the preview step and it adds about 25 seconds to each scan. Scanning prints has equally good quality.

Really easy to use even for someone not hugely tech savvy like myself. More than a few You Tube videos out there giving tips too, I watched some of those. I've scanned over 200 pictures in just a few days. This will scan quite a few photos at once which makes them go fast. The colors & the resolution are very good. I was disappointed in the "editing software" that supposedly comes with it. VERY basic, even more basic than my Windows editing program. They lost a star for the crap "editing software". Overall though I like it alot & am getting alot of photos scanned.

This is a great scanner! I use it to print negatives as my main hobby is black and white film photography. It's easy to set up and once you play around with it for a bit, it becomes REALLY easy to use. Not to mention the advanced settings that it has, it makes it the perfect scanner for just about anyone. Scan quality is excellent and I couldn't have asked for a better scanner.
