Great collection
Definitely an ambitious collection of the early years. I prefer this collection more then "Birth of the dead" and the recent release of a concert in Canada. For me it was all about Jerry doing the vocals on "Promised land" and nice versions of songs such as "Standing on the corner" There is a few songs such as "Not fade away" and "Big railroad blues" that remained in the rotation for a number of years as well a nice "Kingbee" by Pigpen. All in all a good snapshot of that special time when the dead were feeling there way playing and learning. For new listeners worth a listen but don't expect any jamming that was yet comeDefinitely an ambitious collection of the early years.
