Par for the course...But a very good buy.
I've used the leaf and other various types from mohu, RCA and various companies with and without amped signals (this one is not amped/preamped) - and all perform less than promised. The difference here is when the picture came in, and it got the most channels (or at least equal to) compared to the leaf versions, it came in clear. Still not the best but the best I've used of the indoor variety. So a very good buy. OK for shorter distances.
I live twenty-five miles from the tv towers and the land is flat. I am able to get all of the stations but need to rotate the antenna to do so. I was hoping that the advertised 50 mile range would be true, hoping to use this at my cottage. But it doesn't have that range.

Got Local Channels
I live about 45 to 50 miles from a city with TV channels and needed an antenna to go with a new television which I installed on my screened porch. GE is a name brand that I respect so I found this unit at a price well below the local store pricing. I had some doubts but plugged the unit in, pointed it in the general direction of the TV stations and scanned for channels. It found 15 channels and slight adjustments in the direction of the antenna, provided great picture. Maybe the mountains in my area limits the 60-mile advertised from the source but at 50 miles it works great not to have a built in amplifier. I would buy it again... Wow. I get channels I didn't even think existed
it doesn't need a power cord and is super-effective. I get channels here in Chicago with it that I simply didn't know even existed. It's almost like having cable and this is WITHOUT utilizing the smart features of my brand new Sony 4K Smart TV. This antenna WORKS and it works WELL!

Reception
This antenna has very poor reception. It is very directional so that if you turn towards one channel for unpixulated picture you lose other channels in a different direction. I have had other cheaper antennas work much better....I tried a booster on it but it was of little help....I hope this is of help to someone.
