The item was in a box and only wrapped with cling wrap, no padding and not marked as fragile. It was not damaged, but seeing how some boxes get thrown around, it would be wise to put some crumpled paper as cushioning at the very least. Other than that, everything was fine and as described and the item is in perfect condition. I had one just like it and needed a second one to make a pair.
