Sister Carol Lynn Pearson writes about her life and struggles as a Mormon woman married to a gay Morman man. When they married both understood that Gerald had homosexual feelings, but the Church said that through prayer, love, fasting, and a desire to change he could be "cured". Homosexuality is one of the worst sins there is and those who are gay will never find eternal life with their Mormon families. Through her book you learn that Utah has the highest rate of suicide in men between the ages of 18 and 24. Sister Pearson's journey is one of hope, dispair, forgiveness, tragedy, and acceptness. Sexual orientation is not a choice. Who would "choose" be be condemned by your Church, your family and friends. to live a life in "mortal sin"? This book is a tribute to those who realize that love and understanding can be the most important values in life. I loved this book because of the lessons it teaches you and the joy of realizing that families can triumph over adversity.Read full review
The book is great. I am still in the process of reading the book. It is very touching and I moving. I ordered the book because recently my son told me he is gay. It has been very difficult, but I am trying to learn and understand. This book is great - more people should read it and understand more. Thank you.
