This 500 GB Seagate external HDD comes with preloaded encryption software that enables you to backup your data automatically and continuously. Data can be stored and accessed from both Windows and Mac computers, using an NTFS driver, without reformatting this 5400 RPM hard drive. As this 5400 RPM hard drive is compatible with the USB 3.0 interface, a 2-hour HD movie can be transferred within 5 minutes. In addition the USB 3.0 interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0 so the files that are in this Seagate external HDD can be accessed from any computer. You can easily upgrade this Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex with a FireWire800 interface, so that large files can be transferred quickly.
