About this product

Product Information

Defend the existence of Earth through 24 intergalactic levels of vehicular combat as Chicken Little's video game hero Ace in Disney's Chicken Little: Ace in Action. Foxy Loxy and Goosey Loosey have their hearts set on taking over Earth, and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Alternating between three characters -- Ace, Abby, and Runt -- you will blast away evil alien robots as a foot soldier or as the pilot of a spaceship and hovercraft by using the Wii controller to manage inventory and manipulate the in-game camera perspective by pointing at objectives. Explore such environments as Pluto, Mars, Saturn, and the Moon to uncover temporary weapon and vehicle upgrades including heat-seeking missiles, and lasers dropped by enemies or found within obstacles. Recruit a friend for dual domination of tank and spaceship levels in two person multiplayer mode.

I bought this for my kids with little to no expectations. They LOVE it, especially my 10 year old son. His other favorite game right now is Super Mario Galaxy and he spends his Wii time split between the two games. I haven't sat down and watched him play Ace in Action enough to give my personal opinion other than what I've heard him say. He has a friend coming over today and it's first on his agenda of things he wants to do (not Super Mario Galaxy).

  • Disney's Chicken Little: Ace in Action (Wii)

The basic premise of the game is simple; you control Chicken Little and his friends as they play Chicken Little: Ace in Action. What this means is that you'll get commentary from the Chicken Little cast between missions, but you're essentially playing a game that's based entirely on the Ace character, which is pretty much a parody of any and every sci-fi show out there (Star Trek being a huge one). As Ace, you'll travel through space and take on foes in the typical licensed "Buzz Lightyear" fashion, having character spout off catch phrases and use wonky franchise-inspired weaponry throughout. It's a solid design, but there isn't much aside from the basic planet-to-planet layout.

  • Disney's Chicken Little: Ace in Action (Wii)

It's the definition of basic action, but almost every element works the way it's supposed to. It would be easy to dismiss Ace in Action as yet another lukewarm, movie-licensed cash-in, but it would also be a mistake--there's actually an impressive game here, at least for a little while.

  • Ace in action review

I like that it uses the voices of the children (from the movie; ie. chicken little)throughout the game as tho the kids are playing it themselves, I did not the fact that it was geared mainly towards older kids when the movie is for younger children. I bought it for my 6 year old daughter but my husband plays it more than she does as she finds it quite difficult and easier just to watch.
