Product Information

Former football star Fred Dryer starred for many years as HUNTER, television's answer to DIRTY HARRY. Hunter is a renegade police detective who does anything it takes to bring down those criminals who prey on the innocent, provoking the ire of his superiors. They decide to team him with Dee Dee McCall, a beautiful female cop who's just as single minded and tough to get along with as Hunter himself. HUNTER combined hard-hitting action (many critics in the 1980s, while the show was initially broadcast, criticized its violence) with mispaired-buddy comedy reminiscent of the LETHAL WEAPON series. Created by Frank Lupo, who also conceived THE A-TEAM, HUNTER was one of the most popular television shows of the 1980s and one of the most successful cop shows of all time. THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON contains all 19 episodes, with guest stars such as John Amos, Dennis Franz, Brian Dennehy, and Ed O'Neill.

    Miss the 80's? Here they are... plus explosions:)

    The "maverick cop battling stupid regs and weenie superiors" bit has been done to death, but rarely better than with "Hunter". The literally explosive action is frequently interrupted by near-slapstick humor, such as in the first car chase of the pilot when a car door handle comes off in Hunter's hand, prompting his passenger to ask, "What now, Abbott?"

    I have watched 3 eposides so far and the show is definetly still a hit. The wise crack remarks from Fred dryer to his Seargant and crooks reminds you of early Eastwood (( Dirty Harry))The car crashes are not the same qaulity as todays shows butMcall and Hunter work good together even with there under tones of who is a better cop. If you buy I am sure you will enjoy.
