Product Information

As many cult phenomena are, INVADER ZIM was ahead of its time and misunderstood by its handlers. Nickelodeon canceled the show prematurely, not knowing quite what to do with it, just as it was developing a dedicated audience. The entire series is now collected here. INVADER ZIM is an alien Irken, banished from his homeworld for ruining the Irken plot to rule the universe. With the announcement of the newer and better plot, Zim begs his masters for another chance. Eager to rid themselves of the irritating Zim, he is sent to Earth, which he believes it is his mission to conquer. Disguising himself as a boy, Zim goes to human school to learn more about the beings it is his sacred duty to dominate. But only Dib, a paranoid enthusiast of the occult, realizes who and what Zim is. Now Zim finds himself with an opponent just as dedicated and incompetent as he. INVADER ZIM won its audience through a combination of vivid, bizarre characters, black humor, and atmospheric music. It was created by comics artist Jhonen Vasquez, also behind the cult comic book JOHNNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC.

    Zim: Toons, not just for kids anymore, adult perfect!

    Invader Zim is a cartoon that was well before its time. It aired on Nickelodeon network with its target children in their early teens. It is about an inhabitant of the Irken empire whom longs to be an "invader". In his attempt to prove his worth he inadvertently destroys most of his home planet. He is ultimately banished, but thinks he is an "invader with a mission". On earth he tries to blend in with humans and goes to school to learn more about earth. He blends poorly, yet only one child in the class realizes he is an alien. Dib,the student who notices, has an interest in the paranormal. As incompetent as Zim is at invading Earth, Dis is at foiling Zim's plans. Together they bring about a great mix of witty,classc,dark humor. It was created by Johan Vasquez and is the perfect ...

    The Entire Invasion is a must have!

    Whoever canceled this series aught to be fired twice! I first saw an episode with my son one day and I was hooked. I was so hooked I watched with him every time Nickelodeon had a rerun. One day I decide we needed every episode if it was available. I am on my third "complete invasion", and what I mean is that a couple of my friends, thanks to me, are now proud owners of this set. I gave them a set for a Christmas gift because they too found this series pretty dang funny. If you are new to this Zim Cartoon, don't judge after just one show. Watch at least 2 before you decide its in or its out in your world. If you like Zim and dog/robot Gir, you will love this collection- its a keeper!

    An Invasion of Amusment

    This box set is a flashback to my late childhood, but the humor it contains can please at a multitude of levels. This series amused children and adults with its twisted views of the world. Zim, an Invader who escaped exhile to be part of Mission Impending Doom 2, has landed on Earth to destroy us all. With his robot companion GIR and a super secret underground base, Earth faces certain doom...well not really. Dib, a young paranormal investigator, is on to Zim and while no one believes him, he will be Earth's best defense against one egotistical alien. This show is on of the first animated shows to use CGI and while the animation is....unique, the jokes and the storylines never fail to amuse.
