About this product

Product Information

Search in the dark to bring light to the shadows in "Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness." Destroy the darkened souls, release imprisoned spirits, and bring emotions back into play. The second role-playing game of the Nintendo GameCube Pokémon titles, this video game features captivating 3-D graphics. Powerful special effects, RPG story development, devilish dueling monsters, and lifesaving devices are also included. The role-playing game has a release date of September 28, 2005, by Nintendo for the GameCube. It has an ESRB rating of E for Everyone. Activate the Aura Searcher and employ the Snatcher to release the stifled souls of Shadow Pokémon. More than 80 prospective Pokémon captives lure players deeper into the depths of this enchanting game with individual personalities, tactical variety, and creative moves. You can purify the Pokémon, resist the force of the dark gale, and bring light back from darkness. The goal of the game is to catch and purify evil Shadow Pokémon. There are 83 Shadow Pokémon to capture and purify. The shadow creatures are captured via the Snag Machine. Catching evil Pokémon will stop Cipher from creating world domination. If a player is unable to catch a particular Shadow Pokémon, they will receive a second chance from time to time. At certain points in the game, Mirror B. will appear. When he appears, he will have a previously uncaught Pokémon with him. At that point, the player has another opportunity to catch the creature. After players have caught the creature, they must purify it. Purification is done two ways. Method one uses the Purification Chamber. Method two requires the Shadow Pokémon to be carried into the Colosseum where he will be surrounded by good Pokémon. The creature will remain in the circle until it is purified. Nintendo estimates players to expect at least 40 hours of unique gameplay. Single-player gameplay and Versus Mode are available. When Pokémon characters battle, it is done in the Orre, Pokémon's Colosseum. When gamers aren't catching and purifying creatures, they can visit Mt. Battle or PokéStops. At Mt. Battle, gamers take part in a 100-trainer challenge. Each of the 100 battles is split into 10 levels with different zones. Each time a trainer makes it to a different zone, he will face more challenging competitors. At the end of each zone, a trainer will face an Area Leader. If he can beat the Area Leader, he will be gifted with PokéCoupons. Pokecoupons can be exchanged for prizes at the front desk of Mt. Battle. Players can also receive prizes at PokéSpots. There are three PokéSpots in the game. Here, gamers can lay down snacks to encourage wild Pokémon to spawn. Nine different Pokémon can be captured at PokéSpots. Gamers have to stay alert when waiting for creatures to spawn. Sometimes, an old lady, Munchlax, will appear and eat all the snacks. In addition to battling and catching, there are also minigames included. A Pokémon bingo-style minigame gives gamers the chance to get bonuses and special items. Pokémon supported in gameplay include FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Help Ash, Pikachu, and other Pokémon characters purify creatures and keep them safe from Cipher. Capture and purify all shadow creatures to win.

This item was missing some pieces of the wing and box had a small hole, and the seller definitely gave an honest and full description of those issues. Seller also had a great pictures to show the condition described and a good explanation of iGear transformers appearance and style. Listed at a fair price and I received the item, well packaged and not damaged in shipping, and within 3 days. I am quite happy the item. Seller is A+ and I will certainly buy from again!

Item was repackage and condition was fair at best. Seller did offer return/refund. It was for a gift and we researched toy store, collectors for one. Described as NIB and paid for this condition. Received fair condition, dirty mostly, torn open box, which value plummeted. We were able to send to our local cleaner whom did a very nice job of cleaning the doll and the recipient was pleased. Felt the need to warn other buyers.

    NotYour Average Pokemon Game

This game follows a whole different story than what we're used to in the Pokemon series. Fighting and only being able to catch "shadow pokemon" make it a fun and unique twist. Also, as far as I know, there aren't any realy gyms or gym leaders (but I haven't really played too much of the game). I can see why it's one of the more sought after Pokemon games in the market.

  • Pokemon XD, fairly good pokemon game

Pokemon XD is the sequel to the famous Pokemon Colosseum for the Nintendo Gamecube. The game is a pretty good MMO RPG with the same feel as its predecessor. You begin in Pokemon HQ with a faithful Eevee and go through the game snagging Pokemon with closed hearts. There are a few pros and cons associated with the gameplay and overall game quality. Cons: The game is very slow moving in the beginning. This is very similar to Pokemon Colosseum. There is a theatrical beginning that is fairly quick and painless, but the beginning gameplay is pretty slow. You start out in a very simple battle in the beginning using a very awesome Pokemon, but this leaves you disappointed due to the simplicity of defeating your foe. The graphics in this game are the same as Pokemon Coloseum, nothing to write ...

  • Pokemon XD: A little overrated, but still fun!!

Maybe it was just me, but when I found out there was going to be a Pokemon game for nintendo gamecube, and that it was not going to be like 2 other pokemon games for non-handheld consoles (Pokemon Snap, and one I forget the name but you had to find the clips to a movie, blah blah..boring!!)I was elated! I will admit, the handheld pokemon games for Gamecube Color, and Gameboy Advanced, are awesomely addictive games! So the aspect of this type of game coming to Nintendo Gamecube was extremely exciting! I did not buy the game immediatly, because one, I am not a major video game player, I usually play when my younger cousins are visiting and we play games like super smash brothers melee. My youngest cousin has recently become a major pokemon fan (I swear his brain is a pokedex in its own). His ...

  • Awesome Game :D

I bought Pokemon XD because it's the only Pokemon RPG on a console game system. XD has a great story arc for it's time and an unusual quirk in the capture system-snagging the antagonist's shadow pokemon as well as almost always fighting with two pokemon, making things interesting. Originally I bought this around the time of it's original release, only selling it to buy a game a really wanted at the time. Pokemon XD is a hard game to find, so if you can find a copy for a realistic amount, don't hesitate! If a pokemon fan, you'll enjoy this game.

  • Great Game. Exellent Sequel. Improved Quality of Life Features and More.

Had Colosseum as a kid, never beat it. Purchased it a few months ago, beat it, and wanted to play the sequel. A bit more pricey, but I've had a great time playing XD so far. Would definitely recommend.
