    A decent, reasonably attractive light for the price I paid.

    I found two of these unopened in a school basement, so installed both of them in a moderate sized room (roughly12.5 x 12.5 feet) and was reasonably happy with them. So I went ahead and purchased three more "open box" at about half the regular price, a good deal. Easy to install IF you have an existing box. They are sold as being the equivalent of a 150 watt incandescent, but I would say they're not quite that bright - hence, my rating of 4 versus 5 stars. If I had paid full price, I'd rate them as 3 stars. Paperwork says they'll last 50,000 hours, so (if true) they'll certainly exceed my need (i.e., at my age they'll very likely last longer than I will). I have no need of a dimming function, so I can't address that aspect of their use.

    Highly recommended

    Easy to install and really brightened up our 10ft x 16ft family room. The picture makes the light look round but its actually an oval shape and looks stylish. It could be used in smaller rooms as well as the light while bright is not over powering.
