This is my second killer instinct crossbow. 1st was a killer instinct 380. I forgot to release the string and the bow was cocked . The limbs broke under stress. Yes it was my fault not uncocked it but I feel it shouldn’t snapped 2 limbs. My second was more recently on my fatal x less then 2 weeks old. I watched several videos and read a lot of reviews. It had a hand crank on it and was demonstrating how it worked for a friend. I showed him how easy it was to crank for we both have shoulder and back issues but not ready to give up hunting. Anyways, was the 4th time I used the crank. I cranked it back told him to listen for the click , which we both heard then I flipped the release for the crank and it shot forward and broke the crank strings. So I had to start using the rope to cock the crossbow. It squeals from the rope rubbing the shaft. I lubricated the shaft and waxed the string when I put it together and before shooting. It still sounds like the piece that holds the string is rubbing the shaft when it gets pulled back. It does require a little effort getting the cocking rope and the string from the crank off of the firing string.Read full review

I’m pretty happy with the bow with the exception, that the dead, silent crank clamps get pinched between the high angle strings, and the frame after cocking.
