About this product

Product Information

A new generation of mystical melee takes flight in Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit. Following successive, successful rounds in the fan-favorite DBZ: Budokai fighting game series for the 128-bit generation, Burst Limit raises the graphical resolution and adds online rankings, while remaining true to the high-flying, super-powered battles made famous in the Dragon Ball Z manga and anime. A total of 21 characters are playable, in five wide-open battle stages.

Single-player battles are strung together on a storyline set during the popular Z Chronicles, beginning with the Saiyan Saga and ending with the Cell Saga. Cut-scenes are rendered in-engine, with the same stages and character models used in battle, and optional mini-games allow players to unlock extras and explore the branching plot. Internet-connected players can post their progress to online leaderboards, and check their stats against others.

A budokai remake that deserves more

It's a great dbz game, but can be frustrating after finishing the whole game.Still a great game to enjoy!

  • Great two-player game...mediocre single-player

Graphics are great. The cell shading looks really good on normal TVs, HDTVs, and 1080p-capable monitors alike. Game runs really smooth, typical of the easy-to-process cell shading graphics. Music is good and fits the theme of the game, but it's repetitive. That being said, if you're focusing on the music while you should be avoiding that Instant Transmission Super Kamehameha coming at you, you're playing the wrong game. I won't dock it for that. The story is good, not great. The game progresses through the end of the Cell saga and through the movie featuring Broly. They probably could have fit the Buu saga as well (not like the Blu-Ray disc can't hold it :D), but due to the repetitive nature of the game it probably wouldn't have added much. We would have gotten the different Buu forms ...

  • Best Game i Played By Far for DBZ

f you've managed to steer clear of the popular Dragon Ball Z anime for this long, you can be forgiven for thinking that Burst Limit is a game best ignored. Nevertheless, you'd be wrong. Though this 3D fighter is full of references for the fans, it's a good game in its own right and can serve as an easy point of entry into the DBZ universe. Burst Limit goes out of its way to be accessible to newcomers with a thorough tutorial that walks you through all of the controls while introducing you to a handful of the characters that make up the game's roster. The fact that all of the PlayStation 3 controller's face and shoulder buttons have multiple uses can be daunting initially, but there are no complex combos or character-specific special attacks to memorize, and even the craziest-looking moves ...

  • More of the same is not so bad

Burst limit is another in the long line of DBZ titles, but that's not so bad. This game returns to a play style similar to the Budokia series(more side, less behind the head). The command style mimics the psp DBZ title which is not a bad thing. The only complaint I'd have with the game is that you have to choose your Special attack at the beginning of the match and the story only goes to the Cell Saga(but I'm sure that's so they can sell sequels). Overall definitely worth getting, just maybe not at full price.

  • Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit

Having religiously played the Xbox Live demo every day for most of the past few weeks, I was counting down the hours until I could get my hands on the full version of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit. Now, I’m not exactly a fan of Dragon Ball, having only previously had a passing interest in the adventures of Goku and friends. Having said that, playing the demo actually made me want to discover more about the DBZ universe - and how many games can you say that about? Plus, the demo was just so much pure fun! So, did the full game live up to my lofty expectations? Was I rewarded for all of those endless replays of the demo? Excitement coursing though my being, I eagerly slammed the game disk into the old 360 and set about finding out. Once I got past all of the tutorials - took about ten ...
