Does what it says it will do, but some improvements could be made.
I purchased this item to reduce the power load on my laptop computer as I often have an external keyboard, mouse, webcam and external hard drive plugged in at the same time. The hub functions well and is super easy to set up, any required drivers install automatically in seconds and it has been compatible with all of the devices I've used it with so far. What I don't like about this hub is the extremely short AC power cord, it is literally about a foot long meaning that everything you plug into it must have a cord long enough to reach your outlet or be positioned fairly close to it, which is often inconvenient seeing as outlets are typically underneath a desk and not always close to your computer. The other thing I wish could be improved is that in the scenario that the hub becomes ... Drawing too much power from a USB port can increase the internal temperature of your computer and in general reduce its lifespan.

Solved an annoying issue ... my ThinkPad and the docking station have plenty or USB port ... but the result is a tangle of wires ... this comes with a long cord to connect it to the PC, I have it tucked away with all the other odds and ends and power supplies for peripherals, with only two wires to the PC, power and the one USB to Hub cable. Comes with it's own power, which also resolves any power issues on the USB bus.
