    Classic Aladin's cave of essential background information of enduring performing art

    Rewarding plot summaries and other historical information by self promoting experts that over a generation after publication can still keep opera buffs - I do not say opera queens - enthralled. Essential reference work for the bookshelf of anyone interested in western classical music. Also, nicely illustrated in both colour and black and white with photos prints, and stage designs.
