    Couldn't be happier!

    Great tone range, anything from an almost double bass sound to a bright guitar with chords that play evenly. It takes no effort to get great tone and doesn't need a lot of fine tuning or dialing in but it's there if you want it. I play fingerstyle and double thumping mostly but I'm always experimenting with tapping and other less conventional bass techniques and the finesse I can use with this bass has made me grow quickly in the short time I've had it. I did a couple years research looking for a new bass that had the right tone but more specifically the right playability. There were only a couple brands that had the neck specifications and string spacing I was looking for and Lakland just so happened to have both on paper AND Bartolini pickups.     IMHO, the best bass you can buy for the money.

    I have owned basses from just about every major manufacturer. For the price I'd buy this bass over any Fender Gibson or Music Man I've ever owned. The neck feels great in my hands. The tone is exceptional and very wide ranging. The Bartolini pickups are dead quiet. The bass is an exceptional bass to record with. I have one with a rosewood fingerboard and another with a maple fingerboard.

    Best bass you will find in this price category.

    Love the neck on this bass. The playability at the top end is like nothing else I have ever played. Very comfortable and light weight. The pre-amp gets an "ok". Not bad but nothing special. The Bartolini pups are great for an instrument in this price range. Overall lots of value for the price in this Lakland bass.
