    Cold water pipe heater - excellent!

    I am using this for a non-standard use. As a washing machine drain pipe cold water heater, to keep them from freezing in subzero weather. My washing machine drain is in an exterior wall cavity which does not have enough insulation, so it always freezes up when it gets to 10F and below (I live in Montana), so I just plug this baby in, drop it down the pipe about 4-feet, and viola', protected pipes. I am just trying it out this week (this morning -5F, and so far so good)... Seems to be a great product for this, probably excellent as an actual aquarium heater as well.
