    Simple to use large screen

    Drains my new car battery....so have to keep it unplugged. Is it another Ford Escape issue or another Tom Tom issue??? Both past items are also new this year. Same occurred with my older vehicle and Tom Tom

    Lots of features, complex to use

    It has a lot of features but it's complex to use. The pairing with the phone sometimes works, sometimes not, when paired, I could not manage to get the sound of the call to come out of the GPS speaker. Pluses: very customizable, can be veeery loud (which I like). Nice grahics, different languages and types of voices. Speech pronunciation is ultra clear. Overall, good quality. Wish it could show pictures and play music, and for the phone, to just to be a one time setup and just working. Not the best, but It will do the basics. For the company, I recommend they should concentrate in quality options rather than quantity of options. Make it easy, make it work.

    Best traffic

    This is my second one-first was stolen(lock your glove compartment), so I've had about a year of experience with this model. Previously I had G-----. Tom Tom traffic is much more timely, changes route seamlessly, and doesn't do the annoying "recalculating" routine. It accesses the internet through your smart phone data plan. Uses about 400 mb/hour. I think it pools traffic info from users currently online to supplement public cameras, etc. It is voice actuated if you choose. Lifetime traffic and red light cameras. I have no idea if it is usable for hiking, etc. It will drain phone battery, so both phone and device should be plugged into car, using a usb splitter.

    TomTom Go 500

    I love this GPS. It is a great improvement over the older XXL models. The feature that I like the most is the ability to quickly remove it from the charging base so that it can be locked in the trunk or taken with me. The information bar on the right is also a nice improvement, showing upcoming gas stations, rest stops, traffic etc..etc. The pinch and zoom feature makes it easy to zoom in on a particular area. I recommend this to anyone who wants to upgrade from the older models.

    TomTom Tom GO 500 is a great choice!

    Tom Tom has a good reputation and is very easy to use. It was in great condition and came with a bunch of things (bluetooth, remote, car adapter and charger for home. Also the usb to plug into the computer). Had to download a manual and that was confusing because it is labeled as a TomTom Tom Go 500 but at the site they have either 300/700 or 510/910 but it is under the 300/700.
